More Just Ramblings

"Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And, therefore, He waits on high to have compassion on you.  For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him" (Isaiah 30:18).

Hey Gang:  Is that not a fabulous verse?  The Lord wants to be gracious to you and me.  Wow, awesome.  Our pastor brought a great message on the graciousness of God to His children.  He began his message in Genesis, at creation.  Do you think that God had a blast when He put the earth together? Put the fruits and trees and greens in place and then began to design and create our wonderful world of unique, colorful and humorous animals, birds, fish and man?

I think after creating the Tasmanian Devil, the ant eater, the giraffe and a whole barn full of others, He leaned back, took a deep breath and declared "it is good".  But when He created man (and woman), He declared "this is my finest hour, for it is very good".

Now, stop for a moment and consider that God could have created a much less complex man, but He chose to install us with equipment that provides us with intricacies and a fringe package that is beyond our comprehension.  We have no comprehension of what the capacity of our human brain is, Scientists tell us we only use a small portion of it.

When was the last time you blessed God for the unbelievable power of your computer hard drive.  It was once said that to build a device which has some of the attributes of the human brain would take a building the size of Rhode Island.  Today, even with the advent of the chip, might only reduce it to a city block or so.   Consider your eyes-  Magnificent in size and power.  But He did not leave it there, He filled the world with beautiful things of mega colors and scope that eyes can zero in on and we can enjoy.

How about your ears, two things that hang on the sides of faces that are like suction pumps, taking in the wondrous sounds of the birds that sing, the dogs that bark, the words that people speak.  And to top it off- He installed a voice that can not only communicate our deepest emotions but also bring forth beautiful melodies.  What would our world be without the creation of vocal cords and the ability to create great
symphonies and songs that sing our praises to our Lord.

Oh, I could go on and on….. for there is no ends to the wondrous blessings God gave to us when he created this world and all that we survey.  But He also knew that when He created man, there would be a time when that wondrous creation would say "Hey, God we don't need you anymore for Satan has convinced us we can be like you.”

God could have said, “Okay” and undo all that He did, but He choose another route - He sent His only Son to die on a hideous cross that we might be freed from the bondage that was laid on our backs at Eden.

Soooo, That, my friends, is being gracious.  And did He stop creating when sin came into the world?  No, we read in John 14:2 that Jesus said, "I go to prepare (create) a place" for those who accept Me as Lord and Savior of their lives.   Wow, when you hear a bird sing today, thank God for His wonderful deeds. (Read Psalm 107).

Blessings,
Gramps
