I Have A Problem, continued from September 28,2015

“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, When the plowman will overtake the reaper and the reaper of grapes him who sows seed; When the mountains will drip sweet wine and tall the hills will be dissolved.  Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, And they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them; They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, and make gardens and eat their fruit.  I will also plant them on their land and they will not again be rooted out from their land which I have given them.”  Says the Lord your God” (Amos 9:13-15)

Hey Gang:  It is amazing to me that so many people, not only around the world but here in our country, believe that, if suddenly “Israel” would disappear, the world’s problems would be over.  That is much like believing we never have to worry about running out of food because the moon is made of green cheese or that Elsie, the cow, jumped over the moon.  Read again the Scripture of the morning and pay special attention to verse 15 “I will plant them on their land, And they will not again be rooted out from their land.

That is not USA Today reporting, but God- who holds this world in His hands.  Do you remember that song, “He has the whole world in his hands?”  The world would have us believe that is changed now and we are the controllers of the destiny of our nation.     Did we not say that loudly and clearly when our Supreme Committee of Judges said, “Jerusalem is no long part of Israel?” Or said, “It is okay for mothers to kill the miracle of life that God has placed in their bodies?’ Or that His perfect plan for marriage is here and now null and void, his creation has a better plan?

Now getting back to my problem, I have heard many sermons on Gog and Magog as being the next big event on God’s calendar.  I bought into this theory for many years but one day as I was rereading Ezekiel’s account of what is to come, a question popped into my brain ‘ why are none of the countries that butt up against Israel mentioned in this prophecy?

Hey, do we not feel great when someone agrees with us?  I happened to tune in on a program involving several Biblical gurus, who were discussing this very issue, included a scholar by the name of Bill Salus who published a book titled Israelestine, The Ancient Blueprints of the Future Middle East.

His contention is there is a prerequisite battle (war) that precedes Gog-Magog, and it is described in Psalm 83.  In his research he found that all of the nations that butt up against Israel are mentioned in this passage of Scripture.  That Edom is Southern Jordan and the Palestinian refugees; Ishmaelites are Saudi Arabia; Moab is Central Jordan and Palestinian refugees; the Hagrites are Egypt; Gebal  is Northern Lebanon; Amelek is the Negev and Sinai Peninsula areas, Philistia is The Gaza Strip and Hamas; Tyre is southern Lebanon and Hezbollah and Assyria is Syria and Northern Iraq.

I find it interesting that Iran is not mentioned in this listing of enemies of Israel but can one doubt that something must happen to Iran.  If they get the bomb, which our country is doing all in its power to make happen, they have vowed they will use it on the Great Satan (the United States) and the Little Satan ()Israel.  Iran has made no bones about it, their goal is to bring back Mahdi 12, who happens to be down a well someplace.

Time to be nervous, right?  Only if you believe that God is out to lunch.  True, Iran, number one on the terrorist hit parade, is not mentioned in Psalm 83 but Jeremiah says “No Problem”.  “The Lord said to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam “Behold I am going to break the bow of Elam”.  Jeremiah 49:34-39 paints us a picture of what is coming for Elam.

It just so happens that Elam is the part of Iran where most of the Nuclear facilities are located, including their nuclear plant. It is also located in an area that is known to be one of the most seismic places in the world.

Soooo, friends and neighbors, in no way do I claim to be a prophet but rather a gleaner and sharer of  information.     But I am not without my opinions and even have made a prediction or two along the way.  As I was gleaning the materials pertaining to Psalm 83 and Elam, I also revisited the prerequisites that are in place when the Gog-Magog battles become reality.

Ezekiel tells us that “That an evil plan will come into their minds that they will go up against un-walled cities” (Ezek. 38:11).  In other words. Israel will be at peace.   There is no way Israel can be at peace as long as the confederacy mentioned in Psalm 83 is in place.  The second prerequisite for Gog and Magog is the nation of Israel is very prosperous (Ezek. 38:12).   They are far from meeting this prerequisite with more than half of their population below the poverty line.  (However, recent oil discoveries in Golan may change that.)

Are you beginning to get the picture?  Not my picture, but the picture that was painted by God thousands of years ago.   If I were to set the dooms day clock today, it would be ticking toward the zero hour.  Make sure you and your loved ones are secure in the hands of the One who controls the waters.
