How Soon?

“Let no one deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God” (2 Thess. 2:3-4).

Hey Gang:  Have you asked yourself the question, “How Soon?” lately.   When was the last time you dug into the words of the most knowledgeable of the prophets of the Word, namely Yeshua Hamashiah, our Lord, Jesus Christ?  In the Olivet Discourse, Matthew has a two-fold purpose: first he wants his readers to have no doubt that Jesus will come again in all His glory, even though His coming has been delayed; second,  that Jesus is the only Way, the Truth an the Life.

Notice: Jesus begins to answer the disciples question of “What will be a sign of Your coming, and the end of the age?”  with a warning.  “See to it that no one misleads you.  For many will come in My name, saying, “I am the Christ, and will mislead many” (Matt. 24:4-5).  I have always been amazed that so many folks, who are endowed with the ability to seek truth, fall for the lies of the cult leaders that lead them down the prim-rose path.

I recall, as a young lad, the community was in an uproar when a false prophet by the name of Father Divine convinced his followers to sell all that they had, give the money to him and go to the top of a mountain on a certain day and wait for the Lord to take them up to heaven.  More recently,  it was the Molly Boppers in California who committed suicide because they believed Jesus was coming in the tail of Haley’s Comet and they would meet him there.

Jesus made it very clear: “No one knows, not even the angels of heaven, not the Son, but the Father alone” (24:42).   Yet, we have folks who are convinced they know more than the angels of heaven and Christ Himself!

Jesus followed His warning of “Be not deceived” with a listing of very clear signs that we can see, and in many cases affect our daily lives: The newscasts will be filled with war’s and rumors of wars, kingdoms against kingdoms but these will be the beginning of birth pangs.  Many of those whose names is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be persecuted and even killed.  We are living in that generation when there have been more believers killed for their faith that all the other generations combined.

Jesus said, “Be prepared to be hated by all nations because of your faith in Jesus.  Watch out for their will be many false prophets who will crawl out from under the rocks and mislead many- even saints, who are not in the Word continually.   The advent of the computer age is an invention of the “Mixed Bag”.

I receive more than a dozen emails daily, half are deleted as quickly as I find them for I have no way to check out who is the writer.  If the message of the email is not grounded on Scripture with two or more witnesses, it goes into the trash file.

But notice, Jesus does not leave us dangling in the negative, He gives us a “but”, “But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved”.   One last ‘notice’ before I close: “Keep alert and watch for when the gospel is preached in all the world “THE END WILL COME”.  Do we have the capacity and electronic ability to preach the gospel to all the world?  It was reported that most of the world watched the last Olympics.

There are many blasphemies sweeping our nation and the world today, three have become very consuming and damaging to many people. I will share them in the next prophecy morning message.

Blessings,

Gramps
