“Truly I say to you, to the extent that you
did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to
Me” (Matt.25:40). “For to everyone who has, more will be given, and
he will have an abundance” (Matt 25:29).
Hey Gang: We are winding down on our
time at the African Missionary Retirement Home and will soon return to the
world of reality. I say that because when you are blessed to be in the
midst of seventy-seven retired saints of God, it is more than a wee touch of
heaven. As we look into the faces of these dear people, some in wheel
chairs, some crippled and bent over from the toil of their lives, we know that
one day we will see them in glory running and leaping and praising God when
they are freed from the bondage of their earthly bodies.
I want to introduce you to another unique
group of people that we have been privileged to rub elbows with over the years
of our volunteering. Retied folks who come here each winter to give of their
time talents, finances and blessings. We are called Sowers (Servants On Wheels –RV’s- Ever Ready). In the past seven days we
have enjoyed rubbing elbows again with the forty gray haired people who live
under the banner that ‘it ain’t over until it is over’. Meaning, they
cannot find any place in the Bible where it says ‘Well done, now get out your rocking chair and slowly start rocking.’
As in past years, we have watched with
amazement the efforts of these grey-haired warriors play huge roles in
completing large buildings and several homes. At this point there are
thousands of such warriors that spread out across the country with one goal in
mid – to be of service to those who are trying to make life better for those
who are in need.
Jesus said, “But when the Son of Man comes in
His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious
throne. All the nations (and peoples) will be gathered before Him, and He
will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from
the goats …then the King will say to the sheep ‘Come you who are blessed of My
Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world”
(Mat. 25:31-34).
And what is the criteria for inheriting the
Kingdom, For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty, and
you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in; naked and you clothed
Me; sick and you visited Me; in prison and you visited Me” (vs. 35-36).
Soooo, my young friends I am speaking to all
the great grand’s, grand pops, and daddies. God laid it on heart
several years ago that I should challenge all I meet that they should make
monumental effort to pass their Christian legacy down to their great grand’s,
grand’s and children. We do it with our finances but often fail to pass down
those things that have eternal value. When you stand before our King, how
will your respond to His question, “How did you treat the least of these???” Are you leaving YOUR Spiritual legacy?
