Do you Really care? I Mean Really?

“We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? (I John 3:16-17).

Hey Gang:  A group of salesman went to a regional convention.  They had assured their wives they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night’s dinner; however, the last speaker was especially windy and they had to race frantically to and through the airport to get to their gate before it was closed.
In their rush, they kicked over a table which held a display of baskets of apples.  Apples flew everywhere.  Without stopping to look back, they all managed to reach the plane in time.  All but one!

He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl, whose apple stand had been overturned and who happened to be blind. The salesman knelt beside the blind girl and helped collect the apples, repaired the display and gave the girl sufficient money to cover the cost of the damaged apples.

As the salesman began to walk away, the bewildered blind girl cried out to him, “Are you Jesus?” Before Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem he first wept over the ruins.  Alan Repath writes, “You never lighten the load for others, until you’ve first felt the pressure in your own soul.”

Soooo, do you want to be more like Jesus?  Listen, “When he saw the crowds. He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd  (Matt. 9:36) .  What say you? For God so loved you He gave….  What greater gift can one give than to lay down their life - or help -for someone who is hurting?

Blessings,
