“Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; Sing praises to Him with harp of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy.” (Psalm 33:1-3)
It is always amazing to me how God uses the normal everyday things to remind us of the truths that He placed in His word as principles that can make our lives so much better. The mowers were out yesterday cutting the grass. I love to cut our grass not because I enjoy riding around on the mower for a couple hours but because the motor is loud and I can sing praises to my God at the top of my lungs and not offend anyone.
As I watched them twist and turn to make sure they cut every blade of grass evenly one of those very special scriptures popped into my mind. Again it is probably one that you are familiar with but it is good to read and reread the red lettered words.
Jesus was teaching and used this analogy “But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith! And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom”.
Soooo. What is He saying to you this morning? You don’t have to carry worries, fears, or sickness alone. Jesus is right there with arms extended, encouraging you to place those things in His strong arms – but you certainly do not have to accept His open arms policy. Jesus can be your burden bearer or you can go it alone – your choice!
Blessings,
